Backpack pattern. A unisex lined backpack made of fabric with a zipper closure on the top. The front features embellishment straps which continue as bag handles. A pair of magnetic clasps is installed in the upper part to secure the corners of the backpack. The back of the backpack features a handle, adjustable straps and a vertical jetted pocket with a zipper closure. The front piece of the lining has a patch pocket which can be used for keeping your mobile phone, miscellaneous small items, as well as the pocket for a card. The back piece of the lining has a horizontal jetted pocket with a zipper closure as well as a folder pocket closing with a velcro strap. The bottom and the straps are sewn with reinforcing material. The backpack is designed in two sizes.

Fabric suggestion for fabric backpack:

Main fabric. We recommend to use for this item durable materials, which are easy to clean, fabrics of different weights. Opt for materials with waterproof qualities with various coatings and waterproof surfaces. For example, trench cotton, oxford canvas, corduroy, denim, faux leather and faux suede and other materials.

We do not recommend knitted fabrics, fabrics susceptible to seam slippage.

Lining material. As a lining use the fabrics with density and plasticity suitable for the shell fabric, made out of natural, synthetic or blended fibre.

Reinforcing material. We have used adhesive ISOLON foam 3-5 mm thick to thicken the bottom and the straps.

For the folder pocket we used sew-on interfacing 64 gsm 90 cm wide.

Fabric suggestion for leather backpack:

Main fabric. We recommend natural leather or suede for this item.

Natural bovine leather 1.2 - 1.5 mm thick.

APPROXIMATE LEATHER REQUIREMENT IS 1.0 - 1.5 SC M

PURCHASE THE LEATHER ONLY WITH THE PREPARED PAPER PATTERN, EACH SKIN HAS INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS, DEFECTS, THICKNESS AND SHADE.

Lining material. As a lining use the fabrics with density and plasticity suitable for the shell fabric, made out of natural, synthetic or blended fibre.

Attention! Given exact fabric consumption can be used only when pattern details are placed on a fabric sheet close to each other. All pattern details should be arranged on an opened fabric sheet strictly on grain in one direction, each pattern piece must be cut out only once.

5. Strap adjuster 3.0 cm wide (to fit the strap width) - 2 pcs.

Fabric backpack. For sewing you will need the following equipment:

1. Multipurpose sewing machine;
2. An iron with or without steam;
3. Regular presser foot;
4. Hinged cording foot;
5. Wooden iron;
6. Ironing desk or console table;
7. Hand needle for basting;
8. Machine needles №85-90 for the main fabric;
9. Machine needles №70-75 for the lining;
10. Paper scissors;
11. Scissors for textile cutting.

Leather backpack. For sewing you will need the following equipment:
1. Domestic sewing machine;
2. Iron with or without steam ;
3. Standard presser foot;
4. Teflon or roller walking presser foot for leather;
5. Zipper presser foot;
6. Ironing table or ironing board;
7. Tailor’s clapper or wooden presser;
8. Hand needle for basting;
9. Sewing machine needles #100 for leather;
10. Sewing machine needles #70-75 for lining fabric;
11. Paper scissors;
12. Tailor scissors;
13. Self-healing cutting mat;
14. Builder or paper knife with replaceable blades;
15. Steel ruler 40-50 cm long;
16. Erasable marking pen for leather;
17. Any hammer;
18. Double-sided leather adhesive tape;
19. Glue for rubber.

The pattern in your order will be in two print options:

1. For printing on A4/Letter. You need to print the pattern on a regular printer on A4/Letter sheets, then glue the sheets, cut the pattern and you can sew!

A test square for checking the A4/Letter print scale is located on the first sheet of the pattern file.

2. For printing on a large format plotter.
