Fabric suggestion:
Pay attention to the details: the upper part of front, the lower part of front, the lower part of back – two directions of the warp thread are marked. You can cut these details along the weft thread (option 1) or along the warp thread (option 2). Choose the direction of the thread depending on your fabric.
For option 1, we recommend fabrics with geometric prints such as plaid, stripes.
For option 2, we recommend single-colour fabrics or fabrics with small patterns.
Moreover, the direction of the thread on the pieces will influence the shape of the garment. When cutting along the weft thread, the fabric will fall in soft folds. Cutting along the warp thread makes it easier to stitch the garment in some parts.
The sample garment was cut on the bias.
Main fabric. We recommend using light-weight, pliable, drapey, non-stretch fabrics or fabrics with a slight stretch for this garment. Fabrics with a satin and crepe structure are more pliable. In terms of composition it can be silk, viscose or fabrics made from artificial, synthetic or blended fibres.
Interfacing materials. For better quality of sewing, we recommend to use the interfacing material. For example, you may use 22 or 33 g/m2 density 150 cm, width woven interfacing.
The density of the interfacing material depends on the main fabric density.
